Good health is much more than not being ill – truly good health is a balance of physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing. The “Together” project addresses all of these elements by bringing women together to share experiences, build support networks and develop friendships.
We work with local communities to create opportunities for real life interaction. By taking part in our educative activities, a woman will gain more than knowledge and skills to adopt a healthy lifestyle. She will also meet and gain the support of other pregnant and breastfeeding women.
It can seem difficult – even impossible – to find time to socialise during and after pregnancy. But this is a time in a woman’s life when she most needs to share feelings and experiences with others who understand her. Having this interaction can make all the difference – whether sharing doubts and worries, or joy and laughter.
It’s important for a woman to know during and after her pregnancy that she is not alone. She has the support of other pregnant and breastfeeding women in her community – although she may not know it! “Together” activities make it easier for women to meet and get to know each other. Good health can be great fun!
