We know that pregnancy is a great time to adopt healthy new habits – but how?
Every woman is unique. When it comes to health and lifestyle, we all have our strengths and other areas that are more challenging. The first step to adopting healthy behaviours is to identify these.
Take a step back and have a look at your health. Be sure to acknowledge the good things you do – don’t be overly hard on yourself! Then decide which areas you’d most like to improve.
Would you like to eat a healthier diet, or manage your weight better? Do you want to quit smoking or drinking alcohol? Could you use a more vigorous exercise routine? Healthy changes can be as simple as drinking more water – any step towards better health is a step in the right direction for you and your baby.
Once you’ve decided what kind of changes you’d like to make, you may wish to get the advice of professionals in your community. They might be nutritionists, personal trainers, midwives…or the “Together” team in your city!
